WHY A TRI-CAL FILLER

The following is a partial list of features and benefits that set Tri-Cal fillers apart from other manufacturers' equipment. All items listed below are standard features. Other manufacturers offer some of these items as options (at a substantial price increase), but not all. We designed our system from the ground up to be the best filler available. We used over twenty-six (one hundred combined) years of direct design and manufacturing experience to develop new designs with benefits previously unheard of.

Feature

Benefit

Electropolished stainless steel construction.

Extended life - less maintenance.

Unique lance design.

Up to 21% faster fill time; increased production.

Mechanically operated drip tray with removable drip pan or discharge tray.

No limit switches or air cylinders to fail - positive linear motion that does not tip to drain.

Quick disconnect lance assembly with wing bolt attachment - two minute, one man change out.

Quick removal/replacement for maintenance purposes or product change; other manufacturers require up to 45 min. to change a lance.

Floating lance carriage to raise and lower the lance with misalignment proximity switch.

No damage to the drum or filler if the lance hits the top of a drum; other manufacturers will apply up to 300 lbs. of pressure to a drum if the lance misses the bung opening, resulting in a bent drum or structural damage to the filler.

Thompson linear ball bearings and guide rods to raise and lower the lance.

Life expectancy in the millions of cycles; other manufacturers use polyethylene wear strips or plastic rollers that wear out and require frequent maintenance.

End of drip pan arm is hinged.

Facilitates lance removal; lance can be lowered and removed; does not require a ladder and two men to remove the lance.

Lance design does not create water hammer when net fill weight is achieved.

Reduced chance of flex hose or ball valve damage. Water hammer creates a pressure spike that can triple the product supply pressure.

Proximity sensors to detect lance position.

Highly reliable - no pneumatic limit switches or pressure switches to fail or get out of alignment - not dependent on air pressure that may change.

Single Teflon o-ring at lance tip to seal lance after final cut-off.

Quick and easy to change - does not require disassembly of lance to replace foot valve seal - 2 minute change out.

Spring-loaded (self-adjusting) valve rod seals.

Eliminates frequent adjustment experienced on other manufacturers' fillers; provides a positive no-leak seal.

In-line ball valve with fail safe spring closure; closes at final cut-off.

Foot valve assembly does not see product pressure - eliminates leaks in the lance assembly.

Combination roll conveyor/weigh bridge with four shear beam load cells.

Quick replacement of load cell without having to remove roll conveyor and scale deck. Conventional flexure lever scale base with a roll conveyor on top requires complete disassembly to access the load cell; no flexures to break or wear out; less down time.

All pneumatic tubing and electrical wiring is color coded - green for ball valve, blue for fast fill, orange for dribble, etc.

Facilitates easy trouble shooting.

Extensive service manual details all aspects of fillers; includes detailed list of parts not manufactured by Tri-Cal.

System can be maintained by in-plant personnel with factory support when necessary. Less down time and reduced maintenance costs.

Most features listed above are unique to Tri-Cal fillers and are intended to enhance the operation and life expectancy of the equipment. At the time of this writing, no other manufacturer offers all the features and benefits of a Tri-Cal filler. Using our combined years of experience, we have designed a system that will provide you years of trouble-free operation with unheard of fill rates and reliability. Give us a try, we don't think you will be disappointed. Compare our system to anything available and I believe you will buy a Tri-Cal filler.
